Did people worship or associate bulls with God?
On the one hand reading the title might make us found it funny to worship and glorify bulls, on the other hand if we sit and consider it more carefully, for sure 2 or 3 cultures associated with “worshiping” bulls will suddenly come to mind. So I started to do some research on the subject and broaden my knowledge, and I was astonished! Below you will not only see a couple of gods being presented as bulls, but the list is quite wide! Most people associate drinking horns with Vikings, imagining them traditionally dressed, maybe holding swords or axes, drinking avidly their mead from drinking horns in a celebration or after a day of raids. Is it ethical to buy and drink from a horn?
The initial question which we will have to make is from what these drinking horns are being made from. Our company’s drinking horns are made from 100% real and authentic cattle horns. None of these animals are injured (dehorning) and of course not killed just to get their horns. The horns come from cattle which are used for food consumption. Usually the horns of these animals, depending on the legislation of the respective country, are either ground into fertilizer, or destroyed. Ultimately the answer to the question is yes, it is perfectly ethical to buy and of course drink from a horn!
